How to Future-Proof Your Career in an Evolving Job Market

We used to think that experience alone would protect us. That if you worked hard, stayed loyal, and kept delivering results, your value would be secure. Many of us were told that decades of hard work, loyalty, and steady results would naturally translate ...

Redefining Success: What Really Matters in Your Career After 50?

For much of our careers, success is often defined in clear, measurable ways—climbing the corporate ladder, earning promotions, increasing salary, or achieving industry recognition. But after 50, something shifts. The goals that once felt urgent may no lon...

This one’s a standout.

The Long Game, by Dorie Clark

Dorie Clark’s The Long Game is a powerful reminder that meaningful success doesn’t come from chasing quick wins—it comes from consistent, strategic effort over time. In a world that constantly pushes us to be faster, louder, and everywhere at once, this book offers permission to slow down, think long-term, and build a career (and life) that actually aligns with your values.   It’s especially relevant for those of us in the second half of our careers—when legacy, purpose, and clarity start to matter more than hustle. Well worth your time.

The Second Mountain

This isn’t just a book about success—it’s a book about meaning. In The Second Mountain, David Brooks invites us to look beyond the traditional markers of achievement and consider what comes next: a life defined not by what we earn or accomplish, but by what we give, how we connect, and who we become.

For anyone rethinking success after 50, this book is a powerful guide. It speaks directly to that quiet shift so many of us feel—the one that says: There’s more to this life, and I’m ready to find it.

A great resource for your bookshelf!

Cues, by Vanessa van Edwards

I’ve always believed that communication is more than just words—it’s about how we show up. Cues reinforced that in a big way. Vanessa Van Edwards does an incredible job breaking down the small, often overlooked signals that shape how we’re perceived—our body language, tone of voice, and even the microexpressions we don’t realize we’re giving off.

One of my biggest takeaways? Confidence isn’t just about what you say—it’s about what you signal. Whether you’re leading a team, networking, or interviewing for a new role, mastering these nonverbal cues can make a huge difference in how people respond to you.   If you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend it. And if you have, I’d love to hear—what’s one insight that stood out to you?
